Many of us must have planned to sit back and enjoy India vs.
Pakistan T20 match last Saturday. We too had similar plan for the day, till Friday’s
night, when suddenly there was a circular that since the UG students are having
exams starting on Monday and our celebration of Hostel night, with all the
lights and “dinchak” music might
create a hurdle in their preparation for the mid-sem , we can’t go ahead with
the celebration on Sunday.

So what’s next? Let’s postpone it. That seemed one solution
but since most of the menu and arrangements were already booked that option went
running out of the window. The last and only option was to pre-pone it…yes you
read it right…we were thinking of celebrating the hostel night on the night
whole of India and Pakistan will be glued to their TV set and we were
optimistic that somehow either it will rain in Bangladesh or India will bat
second. We were hoping for something miracle to happen so that we could gather
some crowd and the performer will not feel totally idiot performing in front of
an open arena.

Just the thought of doing it scared the shit out of most of
us. I, being a cricket lover, knew that on any given day, nothing beats an
India Pakistan match. So, to pull a crowd from the common room to the stage
seemed a difficult task.

We divided ourselves into teams. I was responsible to coordinate the
performance for the day. We already had a list with us which we made a few days
ago. We rang them again and gave them this pleasant surprise. The singers
seemed ok with the prepone thing but the dancers freaked out. A group was
planning for a PLAY for the event but this sudden news pressed the pause button.
We made the list again. We got around one and a half hours of performance which
had some singers singing on guitar and some on karaoke and few latak jatak and
some hit Bhojpuri numbers, which seemed ok given the time we were performing. The
next task was to fix the anchors and prepare a good and entertaining script for
them. Luckily we found our own LALLU
YADAV from the hostel and Fahad from MBA. We all met in my room. It felt like
an emergency meet. We assigned roles to individuals and ask them to get it done
and report the next day at 1200 hours. The
meeting lasted for around one hour after which me and Shubam sat back to
prepare a rough script for the anchors.

The D day

I woke up at around 8. Last night, we downloaded some of the
karaoke and distributed them to the singers. After sometime, I went upstairs to
check on Shubam. He completed the script which we started last night. We called
Vinay and Fahad, the anchors, to brief them about the script and share their ideas.
Editing it again took around couple of hours after which I typed everything and
printed 3 copies of it for each of the anchors and one for us. Someone came
running with the bad news that our star dancer got injured last night. It’s
better not to disclose the details about how and where he got injured. I went to check on him. He didn’t look great. He
still was unsure whether he could go ahead with the performance. I didn’t force
him and told him to think and reply by 4 in the evening. By the time we were busy
scheduling the performances; the decorating team was almost done setting the
stage and sound outside. By lunch, we were almost done with most of the work. I
was going to perform “Gulabi Aankein” with my friend “Uday” who was going to
sing and I was going to play guitar for him. After couple of glitches we sounded nice. The
last thing was to collect all the tracks and music from singers and dancers and
keep it at one place to play it during the event. By 6 in the evening, we were
all set and ready to rock.

The event…

It was around 7 in the night. Chakachak light mein , the
hostel looked like some bride. The smell of the flowers and room fresheners at
the main gate, gave the feeling of a marriage event. The sound system rocked. The colorful balloons, the marigold flowers, and
the bright light, everything was perfect. All the organizers and performers,
dressed handsomely gathered at the stage. The scheduled time was 6:30 pm but
still we hardly saw any audience. We played some catchy numbers and even
announced people to join us but nothing worked. I was sure all of them must
have gathered at the common room. I went upstairs to check on them. The room
was full. Not even a chair was empty. India was bowling but even then no one
was leaving. I made a request to everyone to arrive at the function but the
request almost fell on deaf ears. I was booed. As I
was coming down, I saw Warden sir going up to the common room. DSW sir was to arrive
at any moment and it would be a short of embarrassment if the crowd was so
thin. The worst fear of everyone seemed coming true. Warden Sir managed to pull
some of the students. We started the show by quarter past 7.

We began with Sourabh who started with Shiv Tandav . It was
followed by a romantic sayari by Vinay .DSW Sir was then asked to inaugrate the event by sharing some of his graceful words. He praised our efforts we put in
and the result we came through in such a short notice. He came up with some really cool sayari himself . A good crowd gathered by
then. I was little surprised. We made sure we keep updating the score now and
then to the crowd.. Ashish started the melody by Ye sham mastani and dooba dooba .
Atal and Abhishek sang on Jo bhi main and Bhoomshankar. An energetic dance on
bollywood hit numbers followed it. It set the mood going. Shashi sang few hit Bhojpuri
numbers starting with Lagawe jo tu lipistic. I was glad to see Deep coming back
to dance. He was really good. The cockroach dance and the slow motion roared
cheer from the crowd. Uday covered Ye sham
mastani on Karaoke and Gulabi aankein with me. One performance followed the other but the
attraction for the night remained our own Lallu , Mr Vinay , who set the mood
by making catchy comments and dialogues in funny ascent. Even the teachers were noticed enjoying his funny act. Fahad and Shubham also did a great job with the mic
hosting the event. Someone said that Pakistan was bundled out for around 90.
The announcement brought claps and cheers.

The show ended with Biman giving the final performance .His
sweet voice with the guitar under the open sky with twinkling stars, set the
mood romantic. DJ followed the event where we all did Baarati dance for around
half an hour.

I left for dinner .It was a special menu and I took my time
to taste each of the dishes. Some of my friends congratulated us for pulling
the event in such a short notice. The whole organizing team was worried since
morning but thankfully everything fell to places.

And most importantly India won the match too. We all sat in
the common room to see the highlights at 11 .All tired by the day’s activities,
at around 1, I went to bed.

One of the good things which happened in Bokaro after
industrialization and upcoming of SAIL is that people from all part of the
nation came here for work sharing their own culture and tradition.

One such tradition of celebrating Chhat puja came from the
north Bihar, now present Bihar. I still remember being a kid how we were all
excited about Chatt and waited for Deepawali to get over . Some of us also
saved our crackers to especially use them on Chhat.

Although Chhat never happened in my own house, but because
of living in a SAIL quarter in sector 9, where neighbors became more than family, it never
felt like the festival was not happening in my own house. The building had good
no. of Biharis and there were almost 5 to 6 families celebrating the festival. We
would be invited to go to the ghats by every one of them and each of us from
our family had their own loyalty. I went with some group, my sisters with some
and my mom with others. This was in the best interest of every one of us.The most famous ghat around that time was Ramdih more ponds and Ranipokhar pond near sector 8.

As a kid, we remember of playing the whole day, as it used to be a holiday for us. Since afternoon people start sweeping roads and pouring water over it as people will be walking bare foot on them. The loud music from the shops made the atmosphere more exciting. The beautiful Chatt songs reverberated the whole environment. At around 3 in the afternoon we all leave for the ghat.

A lot of people joined us in the way. People carrying the daliya lead the way and the rest followed. The ghats allocated shrine to everyone who registered so as to avoid confusion on the day. People correspondingly took their spot and started the ritual. We as a kid were busy with our crackers. As we grew up into teenage, Chhat ghats became more of a place to check out girls. There is a tradition of wearing ethnic clothes on the day and trust me the girls looked much prettier on them.

After the sunset, we left back only to enjoy more with our friends during the night. The next morning we will be getting up at around 3 to 4 am and will be leaving before the dawn. Most of the things repeated as during that at evening. Only this time, people wore more protection with boys taking blazer and mufflers and girls carrying the shawls. We all waited for the sun to come up. All the parvatis doing the ritual were standing in the cold water. The thought itself made me shiver. At around 6, the sun finally comes up. It was followed by some ritual. At the end, we too enter the water to give “ARGH”. The smell of the cracker felt nice. After distribution of the Prasad, everything was packed and we left.

The other special thing new in the morning was the hot tea served by various social groups on the way back. No one dared to miss it. Nothing can be as good as the hot tea in the cold weather .Generally people take more than one. It’s really good.

That is all with the Chhat puja. We mostly returned by 8 in the morning and what’s better than a game of cricket in the bright cold winter morning. So generally, the festival was followed by the game in the nearby ground.

A blog on yesterday's club inauguration ceremony,

Club inauguration ceremony @ BIT,Mesra for 2k14

13th August, 2014; Mesra:
Have you ever eaten a grand maharaja thali? So many options leave you literally blank with what to have at the start.

Well!! The same could be said abut the Club inauguration ceremony for 2k14 batch @ Bit, Mesra which took place on 13th of August, 2014. As many as 20 official clubs presented themselves before the fresher’s, some culturally oriented, some technically oriented, some socially oriented while some adventure based. Each one looked as attractive and funnier to be a part of.

Remembering some of the names, I can broadly classify them as

1. Technical Clubs
• Clubs like IEEE, SAE, IETE, and Robolution were technical clubs which will help you apply your technical knowledge and your learning in class to the real world problems.
• It will definitely add stars to your resume and will help you get that extra advantage during the placements.

2. Cultural Clubs
• There are many clubs suiting your hobby and passion. From painting, music, drama, ramp walk, singing to poetry, writing, photography….you have it all.
• Some of which I remembered were Fine Arts, Dance clubs, Ehsaas, Music club, Literature and poetry, Photography, Dramatics

3. Social Clubs
• Since, we have now moved to college from schools, it’s high time to understand our social responsibility toward our mother nation. To help you in doing so and actually being the change we want to see, BIT have many social clubs which range from working in the camps to outside.
• Few of the clubs were LEO, EPAC, EHSAAS, and ROTARACT

4. Adventure clubs
• Although many of these social and cultural clubs boast of being adventurous along with all their activities, there is a dedicated club for planning your trekking, rock climbing, camping etc
• Sports and Adventure club will not only help you with your physical fitness teaching you various games and even some form of defense arts like Judo, they will make sure you don’t miss any nearby adventurous spots planning outings now and then.

So many stuffs, Right??
What more do you want? Oh you missed the last event and want to get updated. No problem. The next club exactly does that.

5. NEWS and PUBLICATION
• This club is for all budding journalist within you. This club officially boasts of having a connection with the real media world and will be your window to connect to them.
• Be it any event, an interview, an issue, or anything editorial, if you have a passion to bring out the truth, this is your platform. So get ready to publish your own wiki leaks.
• You can also work as a freelancer to this club posting your story on their email id.

So the list finally ends. I don’t know about you guys, but I wanna taste as much stuff as I can from this maharaja thali.

The ceremony began at around 6 in the evening with a lovely lady holding a mic. She briefed the inauguration ceremony. It was already a huge crowd and many have to stand at whatever place they could fit it to witness the show.
One by one every club presented their presentation within the stipulated time limit they had. The funny noise from the back brought the mood a little humorous. Dance show set the mood going for the rest of the evening. I can’t remember the song; I guess my eyes were more active during the event than my ears. With little hiccups now and then, the show ended petty well with the dramatics guys ending it dramatically leaving the freshers with so many options to choose from. The sky is only the limit with so many good opportunities for all the freshers.

All the best !!

by Arvind Kumar

Jharkhand vidhan sabha is at the dawn and all political party have begun their campaign to make a decent mark at the 81 seat assembly. The big players are
1. Bjp
2.Congress
3.Jmm
4.JVM
5.Ajsu

And the new entrant are

1.Tmc
2.Rjd
3.Aap
4.Jdu

1.Bjp would like to ride on its Modi wave and repeat the performance of loksabha winning a majority on its own.

2.Congress will like to make a comeback after a thrashing defeat in many States and then in lok sabha.

3.JVM,JMM,AJSU enjoys a good local support which was evident from their last time performance .But their ability. to deliver is a matter of debate since the human index parameter have not improve much in their constituencies.

4.TMC ,JDU and RJD would like to spread their foothold from their current mother state and would like to write new stories for the land of forest.

5.What about AAP ?
AAP raised many hopes in the most corrupt state of India since its formation in the capital. Soon, there were many people joining the movement from streets and corners of the state and many new offices sprouted in no time.It enjoyed huge response from cities like Bokaro,Jamsedhpur,Dhanbad,Ranchi.

What next ?
A survey conclues that 80% of the people are fed up with the current government and want to change their MLA. AAP can surely fill this void given they stand out to the present challenges. Given the current scenario where the party is fighting for its renaissance, a strong and fresh leadership can resurrect the movement again.Hit by massive corruption since its formation ,the state has no where to go but forward .
Bokaro had great youth and educated force which is migrating to other state in need of job and colleges. The state governmeant is a big failure. The issue of displaced continue bothering even after 40 years of industrialisation . There are no strong policies toward school and coaching centres .Encroachment is yet another problem. THe challenges are unlimited . A manifesto for the district taking up major problems and their solution will be step advantage against the rest of parties which have never shown any interest to solve the issues and just politicize them .Winning back the lost confidence of people is definately their biggest hurdle.
Surely AAP can deliver a lot more than any political party working in the state for almost a decade and half, only if given a chance to prove.

Jhor se bolo...........Sare bolo...........Jai Mata Di !!

Hello friends,
I am back after a refreshing journey from the mountains of Vaishno Devi. I would like to share my experience and give you some important tips so that you can enjoy the journey like we did.

My journey began from Chandigarh. We have a reservation from Amabala to Jammu Tawi by an early morning train. So we got up early, all excited , rechecked our bags and headed on.

The train was on delay as usual and we reached Jammu Tawai railway station by eveining 7. We found out that there were buses running to Katra every 15 mins . We took a bus which charged Rs 50/seat. Although we travelled in dark, we could visualize the beauty by the roads. After nearly an hour ride , we arrived at Katra.

We needed to find a rest room to get fresh and have a bath before begining our trek. Once we landed off the bus there were no. of lodge wala asking for their service. We felt better to move on a little and do some enquiry. At nearly 200 mtr toward the main market we found a place where we were given a room to stay till we freshern ourself. They asked us just to buy prasad from them in return which cost around Rs 200 - Rs 500 and more as per your need. We kept our luggage , had our dinner nearby and took a shower. The water was really cold . You can either take a shower at hotel or take a holy dip in the stream nearby. We checked out depositing our luggage at the lodge iself. It was quite safe and convienient to trek without these heavy bags.

The weather was cool and there was proper lighting to avoid any difficulty. Most of the time we took road. Before begining your jouney, dont forget to get your ticket for the mandir. As we had army pass, we got them easily. After all set and done, we began at 10 pm. Treking in night was a great advantage as the days gets really hot. We preffered to go by walking but you can also book a horse or a caravan to travel. They cost somewhere between Rs 2000- 5000.So plan accodingly. Its better not to have kids as they can get tired petty soon and then you have to carry them all the way up.

There was immense energy while climbing with people slogging " Jai Mata Di" all the way. Important thing to practice while trekking is to have plenty of fluids, do rest at times for short times, and while moving keep breathing deep to avoid fatiqueness. It was night and we missed on the scenic view but the absence of sun was a great help.

At around 3 in the morning , we reached Mata ka Mandir after 5 hours of continuos walk. Youngster can prefer stairs if they are regular with running otherwise its better to go with roads. We did our puja and decided to halt a little before clibimng up for Bairav Mandier, which was another an hour climb. We borrowed Kambal at a deposit of Rs 100 per piece which was completely refundable. We were really tired and slept wherever we got a space to lie down.

We woke at around 6 in ther morning. The view was JUST AMAAAZING. Early sunshine fell on the mountains and shone them like gold. We all just gazed at them for the next 10 mins, There was sanitary facility nearby. After half an hour, we were ready to move ahead. At nearly 8 am, we reached Bhairov Temple. It took another half an hour for darshan.
After puja we went to a eatary nearby and had breakfast . It was petty good and economical. Best part was , I could charge my cell there. After some photography, we started descending.

We caught up on every natural beauty which we missed while climbing. Be sure to be alert with the monkeys as they will take away your prassad . While returning we saw people profusely sweating in the sun making them more tired which again remind me of asking you to plan your climb at night. We got down pettty quickly. At around 10 , we were at Katra. We checked in at the lodge. There was facilty of maliswala available too if you needed one. We were schedule to leave in the night . So we did some shopping in the evening. At 8 pm we left for Amritsar via bus.

It was a spiritual and mesmorizing experience.
Hi Friends,
I finally got my new Karbonn smart tab 2 .With the price range, the facility its offering are great. Surely a 5 star from my side. Apart from the video chatting issue and a little hiccups now and then, it running absolutely wonderfully.
But there was some problem.

I still was clung to my old habbis of using mouse and keyboard while working at home. I have an old , not working PC kept there with a spare PS/2 mouse and keyboard(those with round input cables). I thought of integrating them and use the comfort of laptop on tablets and that too at such a small price range.

So I began my research and found that my tablet will support USB devices. But I didn't have one and wanted to use my old PS/2 devices to utilize them to save any extra expense. So I did some more googling and came out with a solution.

Here is a detail step by step process of doing that :

1. Buy a PS/2 convertor from the market. Its starting price range is Rs 70. With a little bargaining you can get it at around Rs 60.

2. You have been provided an OTG CABLE with the Karbonn Smart tab. Now,its time to use it . Connect the new convertor with the tablet using the OTG cable. Now attach the two PS/2 devices with the two port of convertor cable, one for mouse and other for keyboard.

3. On attaching the devices , you will get a keyboard symbol displayed at the status bar. You will also get a mouse icon once everything is properly set up.

(*Note : At times , it may happen that the devices don't connect at the very first attempt. Keep removing the OTG CABLE and re plugging it till the mouse and keyboard start working.)

4 Once , set and done you can use the peripherals just like you do at your laptop.

With these simple 4 steps and extra expense of Rs 70, you can utilize the old devices with your KARBONN tab and get the comfort of a desktop at home.

If you have any trouble doing it ,please write it back to me.

Hello friends,
I know many of you outthere reading this is a great writter but don't know exactly where and how to start.

If you want to start blogging and don't know where to start, relax because you are at the right place. Getting started is the most difficut stage for every blogger. Once you get through this , there is no stopping.

So, the first question which you will be wondering as a starter is that why to blog?
If you are investing so much time in keying so many information then the question should pop up that why to do it?

The answer is simple................. For making money. But how?

There are two ways

-> Get your own domain name registered and get a web hosting . Link those sites to your blogging service provider like blogger or wordpress. There is lot of information regarding how to do this on the web. You can also get trial domain registered on the web for free.

That's sound a little complicated. Right ?? Don't worry , there is a simple method too.

-> Sign into blogger with your google login. It will provide you free web hosting service with a free domian name eg. yourname.blogspot.com. Just edit your blog , chose a template and publish it.

->To get ads, register with google adsense and place it to your blog. for eg. If I am writing about " Make money by trading" I can post sharekhan add near it.There are many site which will link your blog to the user . One of them is www.linkfromblog and help you earn more..

Once you are satisfied with your content , publish the writing. Be sure to be interactive , humorous at times, friendly and simple .

It should simplify the things for the reader rather than confusing him.Try avoiding technical term and better quote it in proper english to reach a massive crowd.

So once done, publish it and relax and hope for the best to happen.

Enjoy your experience sharing.
I hope this small information will be useful to all my readers.
